Thesis Project: LIFEMAP
DESCRIPTION
Studies show the positive effects of memories, such as valuable lessons, confidence, and self-coping mechanisms, are crucial to the development of a successful individual. Foster children have a scarcity of memories due to their nomadic lifestyle and lack of resources.
I created LifeMap to provide documenting services (digital analog and tangible products) to create memories for foster children. I built the brand on these keywords: belonging, youth and journey.
There are three different opportunities to record and store foster children’s memories. First a website with a portal to upload journal entries, photos, audio, videos, and important documents (available on mobile site). Next is a JourneyBook®,
A journal to physically archive memories at various age stages. Lastly is packaging, a portable container to store artifacts, as well as JourneyBooks®.
